So last night was the last night at Notre Dame
before the vacation and I thought it would be massive. It turned out to
be a very average night…as Nanou (The owner) put it: ‘It was a night
where very few beautiful girls were here’. Worthy of an honourable
mention on the beautiful front, however, is Shiv…this girl is
absolutely stunning…and if her boyfriend’s arms weren’t thicker than
my waistline I’d go for it…

In other news…I’m going home very soon! Today is Wednesday, we’re
going out for a big night out tonight, and then it’ll be Thursday (and
the day before always goes really quickly) and then it’s Friday (and I
have to get up really early) and that’s it! Wow! This term has flown
by…I was thinking last night how lucky I have been in nearly every
aspect of this stay so far…And a lot of it has to do with working at
Notre Dame. I mean, I’ve met so many people from so many places
(noteable mention: Sweden) PLUS i’ve been financially ‘afloat’ all of
the time. Sweet.

I got to play with my first (not mine) MP3 player yesterday. They’re
cool, don’t get me wrong, but this one had 64mb memory and I’d need
about 640mb if I didn’t want to get bored with it REALLY quickly. Good
novelty value though.

I’ve found a really amazing Battle Royale
(film) website – not only does it have total synopsis of the film etc.,
info about the cast, screw ups in the continuity etc., info about
follow ups and special edition…it also has over 800 vidcaps from the
VCD! If you made a monster flick book you could basically make the
whole film! Check the site out now:

Joss and George the Whining Irish went
Thai boxing today. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! They were knackered after and
Joss said (and I quote) ‘They made us look like women’. Oh sweetness.
However, J said he’d definitely be going back after Chrimbo because
it’s great Lose Weight Exercise. George said ‘I prefer skiing like…’

Tonight we had a great dinner at Joss’s…steak (hallal of course) and
mashed potato. Superb. We then had quite a few beers (including 2 cans
of Boddingtons that I found in Géant…grand…) before going into town
to the Irish pub, and then to the Couche Tard to see the guys’
attacker…erm…I mean trainer from earlier. Joss was a bit down
because he finished his relationship with his girlfriend this evening,
but George cheered everyone up with his tales of genital infection at
the hands of Thai prostitues..nightmare…

Celebrations…

Well fasting’s over, and last night we
celebrated by…working. Oh well. It was a really fun night though, and
much humour was seen in and around the Vieux Manoir (sca)bar until the
early hours today.
We all ended up sleeping at George the whining
Irish’s place until around 11am when Joss and I caught the tram
home…quite tired. I thought that I was going to feel absolutely
horrendous, as I did have a couple of beers and some Kahlua, but this
morning I didn’t feel so bad at all. PMA my children…

I may have stumbled across the best thing ever…take a look HERE at this list of comic book characters and be amazed at Doctor Denton! (Real name: Oliver Denton). How cool? Tres.

Time and Tide

Tonight Joss and I went to the cinema to watch Time and Tide,
a movie made in Hong Kong (the title there is “Shunliu niliu”). It was
excellent. I didn’t know what to expect (I originally, after having
looked at the hype in the local cinema newspaper, thought it was
animated…it wasn’t…) and was really suprised for the better. The
plot was really hard to follow, sometimes it was better to watch the
action instead of trying to read the dialogue (it was in mandarin with
french subtitles), but it all sort of made sense in the end…

The End Is Nigh…

Well Ramadan finishes tomorrow…the end
of fasting, the beginning of Eid celebrations etc. In some respects it
seems like just yesterday that I was beginning the fast…but when I
concentrate it seems like a very, very long month.
Perhaps it’s the
fact that I have never, since the age of, I estimate, 16 years old,
gone without alcohol for a month. Perhaps it’s that I didn’t have
anyone *really* who I was doing it with for support. Or perhaps it’s
that I’ve never done anything of this magnitude (days wise) and
actually completed it before.
It was very interesting, both from a
‘makes you think’ angle and a ‘self discipline’ angle…I thought I
would Lose Weight Exercise/”>Lose Weight Exercise more Lose Weight Exercise/”>Lose Weight Exercise-weight-Lose Weight Exercise/”>Lose Weight Exercise (perhaps i’m already at critical mass), and I
thought I would suffer from more fatigue which hasn’t materialised
(thankfully)…Overall, I would recommend doing this sort of activity
to everybody…maybe just for one or two days…just to see what it
feels like at 4pm when you are *so* hungry and know there’s an
agonizing 60 minutes before you can eat. It makes you think, and
appreciate simple pleasures a whole lot more.

I also realised that I haven’t had any sexual relations for the month either. Honestly. Damn. It’s bad being good.
