Aaahhhh…I just got back from a night out at a
club called ‘Baobub’ or something…My friend Franck the DJ was
playing…it was a weird night, I guess there weren’t enough people
there really so the atmosphere was a bit crap (there were maximum 50
people there, and the space could have fit 250 I reckon). Oh well…the
night wasn’t a total failure because we had an absolute BaNgEr in Notre
Dame, I think it was the best night in terms of people and consumption
(not the disease) that we’ve had so far (although I did get pissed off
with people who kept banging into me and knocking the cd players etc.).
Anyway….
…I think tomorrow (today) is going to be the second to last day of
fasting, so that’s some good (?) news. It’s going to be weird to wake
up on Sunday and be able to have a coffee in bed…I wonder how many
days I will actually appreciate it for…
…I sent out an email to my email contact list and it was nice to hear
from some people who I haven’t heard from in a while (Finland
rules!)…I hope everyone around the globe wherever you are is keeping
it crazy real…And so to bed…
Yo well it’s all going down at the moment…Last
Tuesday was a quiet night at work, we were all falling asleep around
11:30pm, mentally preparing to go home when *BANG* into the bar walk 20
Swedish girls (I kid you not), all drunk, all with a seemingly
insatiable desire to dance! Too good. They just went wild, and Joss and
I agreed that it was the greatest moment of all time.
Wednesday night (last night) was pretty sweet…we went to watch the
Fulham v Liverpool game (that wasn’t the highlight, the match was
boring) but the atmosphere was really great in the pub…a really
Christmasy feeling.
After
that we went over to some girls’ house and it was really
civilized…there were about 8 of us (notably they were not from my
faculty, they were from a really, really good one) and we chatted until
around 4am, when we went to a French guy’s place to sleep…
3 hours later
…we had to wake up to go to class because we had an exam this morning
at 8:30am. Shiznit. It went ok, and so I went home, paid my rent and
went to sleep until 5pm…
…So then I ate.
He he he I just got an email from James Beat
who has informed me of the annual QEHS reunion party which will take
place the 28th December at the Rose + Crown…It’s always a
classic…Anyone who is interested in it should start emailing their
peoples because it’s going to be a banger….
I got two new posters for my room the other day from
this wicked little manga shop in town. The place is really small but
has so much stuff in it, seriously it has so many videos and a few
posters as well. Couldn’t find any Crying Freeman unfortunately, but I
got a Gundam Wing poster with one massive space flying robot dude on it
and one of this other animation which i’d never heard of but it looks
amazing…Gensomaden Saiyuki.

Went to see The Curse of the Jade Scorpion at the cinema with Nolan the Canadian playboy ™. It’s the new film
written, directed and starring Woody Allen and was really, really
funny. It had so many classic lines in it that when we left the cinema
we could hardly remember a single one – it’s like they were coming so
fast you could only store them in short term memory…
- I wouldn’t try and kiss you if we were marooned on a desert island for 20 years!
- We would never last 20 years on a desert island because after 20 minutes I would make a bow and arrow and shoot you!
Maybe it’s a case of ‘you had to be there’ but if you’ve seen the film you’ll laugh your a$$ off…
Also today I had an Italian exam and it went terribly well…no, wait,
it went terribly. God bless the University of Warwick for not forcing
us to get any sort of great results in our exams here…
Yo so Joss and I went
into Quick restaurant (I don’t think I’d offend anyone here by saying
that it’s the French McDonalds) for a quick bite to eat at 5pm
yesterday…if the truth is to be told we were drawn into the place by
the promise of 2 free Batman badges with our super-hero-maxi-meal
(great!)…so we go up to the counter and BOOM!
—There she was—
…This girl was working behind the counter and DAMN this girl was
fine. So we start chatting with her (even though the queue is massive),
joking around, asking for more badges and free t-shirts…all harmless
fun. Anyway, so we go off to eat and when we’re finished (two
fishburgers, chips, 2 wonderwoman cheese stars, coke) I decide to buy a
café (coffee) to have with my Superman chocolate brownie. I went back
down to the checkout but the lovely Mariana (namebadge) was standing on
the *wrong* side of it….
….So I start to ask her what she’s doing on the wrong side of the
counter, and she answers that she’s just about to take her break. We
chitchat for about 4 seconds before we both realise we’re falling in
love, and she promptly comes to sit with Joss and me for her whole
HOUR of break. At the end of the break she gives me her number and says
she’d like to see us (me (sorry Joss)) again…I say cool…
Yikes! I went snowboarding for the 3rd time
today – I actually made it to the bus on time – and it was pretty cool.
There weren’t any lessons unfortunately, which turned out to be a real
shame because I didn’t feel like I really learned much today, I am
still making the same faults as I was last time, but I saw my teacher
from lesson 2, Ti-Ti, on the bus and he said he’s give me a lesson on
Wednesday if I wanted. Sweet.
What was really cool was that I went on my own (in that I didn’t really
know anyone else who was going especially) but it turned out that some
of my really good friends were there, including the lovely Marie who I
spent most of the afternoon with on the various slopes. We also took
this little train ride thing up to the snow park where all of the jumps
/ half-pipes etc are and it was amazing to see some of the stuff the
guys were doing. It really motivates you to want to learn when you see
others doing such cool stuff!
On the subject I think i’m going to make a little snowboard subsection
to Oliworld.co.uk, not only for the public’s interest (I know you love
me!) but for my own personal record of what i’m learning just so that
everytime i am in bed with an aching bum-bone and nearly broken thumb
(like now) I can look back at how much better I am now than I was jsut
a few days/weeks/months before. Or maybe I’ll just make the page,
update it once and then forget about it. We’ll see….
Ho ho ho so I went rock climbing yesterday…first of
all let me say that if you are ever going to try this sport then do
make the effort and enlist the help of swedish girls…they really do
make the experience a LOT more fun. Watching girls climbing up walls is
quite special…
…however actually doing it yourself is a totally different
experience. Obviously we started on the easiest climb and it started
off very well, until the moment when I looked down at the girl who was
holding my Exercise/”>Lose-weight-Exercise/”>Weight (who basically had my life in her hands) and I
wondered how, if I made it to the top, I would be able to get down. She
replied ‘I’ll bring you down, don’t worry’…but this didn’t really
convince me and a cold fear gripped my body. I told her that, just to
check that there’ll be no problems, she should bring me down now (I was
halfway up), and to my relief it was a totally painless
experience…floating down the wall. Then I went back up it again and
it was more fun because I had more confidence in not dying, and I got
to the top ok.
Oh yeah and if you’re ever going to go climbing in France and you’ve
got big feet then bring your own shoes. I had to wear my massive
DCShoeCo skating shoes because they didn’t have any of those climbing
pixie boots in a 47 or 48. Doh!
Last night at work was a real banger…the bar was
full all night and the ambiance was excellent because the majority of
the people really wanted to have a good time and relax. It’s so good
when it’s that sort of atmosphere instead of people who are grumpy or
bored…
…Only 1 week left of fasting!
