On the ca$h front, I decided last night to really spend every single penny I have left before payday on Thursday, so I took the trusty Switch card to Safeway and bought…Doughnuts!!!! With toffee inside!!! Respect to me!!! I think this solves the eternal riddle – “If you could only eat one thing before you were a broke-a$$ hobo then what would it be?”.
This meant that last night, except for paying £6 for a 6 minute phonecall (IM SO STUPIDDDDDDD (but that’s another story) I watched 8 episodes of CSI (end of series 1 and start of series 2) and ate doughnuts until my eyes bulged (TM Sky+ )…

On the subject of CSI, last night’s episodes were good, not amazing, but good – except for one…the first episode in series 2 is absolutely TERRIBLE and it’s worth finding it on the Internet (pay any royalty fee for your downloads direct to the tv company, please…) and watching just for laugh factor. The acting is almost Hollyoakes standard (I said almost…)

Protest

Yeah so I protested yesterday at ‘the biggest street protest ever’ (ahem….on a…ahem….weekday…) but it was…ok…nothing special…

But we drank COCKTAILS after so it was all good!! I got my book from Amazon today – so cool! Soon I will be a PHP king and everyone will kneel before me. One small geek point is that I have been quite pleasantly suprised by my own ability to work with perl with seemingly no (touchwood) problems…our Conference Calendar is nearly ready (URL to come soon!) and it’s looking good!

To add to the crazy blast from past people talking to me, Ly-Ly the lovely Scottish monkey (no offence darling) popped up out of the blue today – and it was groovy to talk to her! I think maybe everyone’s got to that time in their life when they’re remembering the ‘good old days’ (=FRANCE) and so they want to reminisce….or maybe they’re all bored to fuck. I agree….

After the most hardcore work session this morning the boss came up with a novel idea – to have beer! This job’s the dream!!! I just went to to this tiny Venezuelan café for lunch and ate some little thing that was like a crispy pancake but without the crumbs. And full of chicken! Answers on a postcard….

A New Hope

So it’s been a very weird couple of days – talked to the Money girl Shiv (errr actually it was an email you geek) which was a bit of a blast from the past, not as much as Mariatzell popping up and chatting too!!! Craziness. She was like ‘oh yeah I was going to send you a collage of photos of us but you changed addresses’ – yikes! I missed out! If there’s one thing I’d like more of from France it’s photos (or the ability to relive entire months hehehe)…

I watched almost the entire Series 1 of The Office last night and it was amazingly funny, I might watch Series 2 tonight – anyway that’s not the point the point is that I didn’t sleep very well but for some SICK reason I feel great today. Maybe it’s because I just ordered a book from Amazon and I’m going to work on the website again today AND the big edit starts for the December issue today so I WILL become an Editor today! Yippeeeee!!!

I did get a big unexpected slice of good news that a certain Italian student may be popping around this weekend (from Italy). I’m pretty happy about this (fall of Berlin wall happy (happy Germans, not unhappy Russians)). Yes yes. Yes.

I got a PSOne at the weekend. And Tony Hawk 2. Too much fun. And I started playing C+C Generals again. Saving money is fun (sad).

I think my whole office is going to a crazy Anti-Bush demonstration on Thursday. Yikes. I’ll try to restrain myself (from bombing the people from Socialist Worker “newspaper”)…

Yeaaaa boyyyy so this morning has been CRAZYY with work but cool – I’ve done some reports on the charity’s website usage (WOKA WOKA) and also some guides for the rest of the ‘staff’ on how to use a website count (Clue #1 – look at number of people). Brain surgery.

May I say that Easynet are the worst company in the world and anyone who says different is lying or works for Easynet or (as I’ve noticed is the case) BOTH. BASTARDS.

Last night was an unexpected trip to see The Matrix: Revolutions. Now there have been a lot of people slagging the thrid film in the trilogy and all I can say is WE DON’T NEED YOU (watch it, you’ll get it) because it’s cool!! There’s just TOO MANY HATAZ in this world…

…on the subject of hataz, I got a copy of the new G-Unit album and it’s ok as far as I’m concerned, not amazing but not shit…there’s no massive club hits on it to speak of but maybe there’s some gold in there that’s waiting to creep out…Jay-Z’s new album is also good (actually it’s great)…it’s really really old school and cool…Jigga WHATTTTTTTTT…
