There are loads of funny signs around China which are mostly mistranslations, but my personal favourites are those which could be interpreted two ways.

My all time favourite is this one, which I see every day on the door of the underground:

caution risk of pinching hand shanghai underground

Is it a notice about trapping your hand in the door, or a warning about potential pickpockets on the metro? You decide!

  1. OR…is this a warning about ass grabbing?

  2. 我怎么没看出当心扒手的意思来???

  3. The chance to be stolen is more than hand grabbing in SH. You need to be careful all the time when you are in a metro.
