How to fix Mikeey, Mikeyy, Mikey or Mickey worm on Twitter

14th April 2009 Update: If you are ‘locked out’ of your Twitter account, go to: http://twitter.com/account/resend_password and reset your password, then follow the steps below to remove any trace of the Mikeyy worm.

If you are reading this, chances are that you’ve been infected with the Twitter worm/virus called Mikeyy (or Mickey, Mikeey, Micky…there are many variants). Here’s how to remove the worm and get your Twitter account back:

1) Go to Settings (http://twitter.com/account/settings)
2) Update your Name, Username, More info URL, One Line Bio. Press ‘Save‘!
3) Click the Password tab and change your password. Click ‘Change‘.
