One of the funniest (I don’t know why) moments in Shanghai so far was the first time I saw people moving shopping trolleys down an escalator. We don’t really have two-storey supermarkets in England (do we?), so the issue probably never came up (or went down)…

在上海最有意思的时刻之一(我不知道为什么)是第一次我看到别人在电梯上把购物车运下楼。在英国没有2层楼的超市(有吗?),所以可能永远也不会发生这一幕…

SHOPPING TROLLEY MAYHEM

I didn’t think it would ever be trumped in terms of weird stuff…until…

瞎来来的事情看多了,但是还没见过这样的…直到…

  1. Hahah, this old woman on her Bike needs her own TV show. CSI: Shanghai Ghetto.

  2. I highly suspect that accidents involving stuck trolleys throwing people off the escalators happen pretty often. i know it does here when idiots take them up or down an escalator. lifts were invented for a reason =.=;;

    They are step escalators too, not the flat kind… these guys deserve a medal for their perseverance! I’ve tried just one trolley on one of these and it’s nigh on impossible!

    **applauds**

  4. What is it with Chinese people and their bikes. It’s the same in my apartment. They ride the bike through the doors of the building, across the lobby and in to the lifts. I don’t know what happens after that but presumably they then ride in to their apartments and sit on their bikes watching TV.

    • Haha yea. Reminds me of my old flat…

      The doors of the lift would open on the ground floor, and someone would be there with a bike, blocking the whole doorway and looking at me like “you inconsiderate bastard” when I tried to walk past them…
