Fudan University photos (负担大学照片)

So recently I had lunch with a very good student of mine (although there’s only so much you can teach an American before the words start bouncing back)…

最近我和我的一个三好学生共进了午餐（教育一个美国人的空间真的很大，故而称之为‘三好’学生）。

When we’d finished lunch I was feeling a little tipsy, so I decided to sneak into the grounds (translation: walk into) of Fudan University and take some photos with my new camera :D

午饭后我有丁点儿醉意，于是想溜进（注：其实是“踱进”）复旦大学校园，用我的新相机抓拍些照片。

Fudan University in Shanghai has a lot of picturesque areas, but I decided to focus on the big ass building on Handan Road, since it is one of the ‘icons’ of Fudan. I couldn’t take too many pictures because it was a baking hot day, and the beer in my belly soon made me want to go home and take a nap, but anyway…here are the photos of Fudan University buildings and grounds:

上海的复旦大学其实有很多栩栩如生的拍点，不过我还是决定先聚焦在邯郸路上那座丑陋的大建筑，该建筑居然还被号称为复旦的标志性建筑之一。由于那天热得像烘焙炉，我没能够拍太多相片，再加上我肚子里的啤酒已渐渐发酵，幻觉中我箭步如家打盹鼾声四起……以下便是复旦大学校园建筑一瞥：

Since I found out my Mum reads my blog, I feel like I need to put more photos of flowers in it. Appeal to a wider audience ‘n stuff.

On my way to the taxi, I found this road just inside the Fudan University gate. Nice, huh?

Finally, for everyone else balllllllin’ China style (this is the basketball court where I killed both of my toenails 4 months ago by wearing running shoes to dunk. Yeah I said running shoes. Yeah I said dunk. I still got mad ups (for a white boy). Witness.

最后这张是为所有有中国特色的家伙特别奉献的。四个月前，在这个篮球场上，我穿着运动跑鞋灌篮，牺牲了四个脚趾指甲盖儿。没错儿，我指的就是跑鞋！我说的正是灌篮！作为一个白人青年，我还是有点耿耿于怀。铁证如山哪。

OMFG WTF END OF THE WORLD?!? (世界末日啦？！？)

Ok so I went out for lunch today to Hooters Shanghai (well it *is* Friday, after all)…but by the time I arrived there I could hardly breathe! There was WTF terrible air quality…I mean like I felt like being sick on the lovely waitress. Luckily, I wasn’t. ANYWAY….

今天我去猫头鹰餐厅吃午饭（毕竟这是星期五）…但是从我到那里为止，我几乎没有办法呼吸！真他妈的空气太差了…甚至让我觉得会在看到可爱的服务员时觉得恶心。幸运的是，我没有。不管怎样了…

So afterwards I went home, and just as I was walking into my compound (I’m so military) it started raining. I don’t mean normal rain, I mean SSR (Shanghai Summer Rain). SSR drops are HUGE, and glow yellow because of the pollution (j/k (kinda)).

后来我回家了，就在我走回我们住宅区的路上，天开始下雨了。不是普通的雨，我的意思是上海夏天的雨！上海夏天下的雨很大，还是被污染过的黄色的（一点点玩笑的意思）。

Thus began the most crazy storm I’d ever seen! Rain, hail, thunder, lightning! I rushed to grab my camera to document it!

然后开始下起了我从没看到过的倾盆大雨！雨，冰雹，打雷，闪电！我马上用我的相机把它记录了下来！

Erm…ok so I found that it’s more difficult to document a lightning storm than first expected. LIGHTNING STRIKES QUICKLY! MY FINGER MOVES SLOWLY! After 10 minutes (and when my arms hurt from holding the camera trying to guess when the lightning would strike) I just said 没办法 (screw it) and opened a beer.

俄……然后我发现拍暴风雨比我预想的要难一些。闪电太快了！我的手指动得太慢了！10分钟以后（我的手臂由于我拿着照相机试图猜测闪电会什么时候会划过而很酸）我想说没办法，然后开瓶啤酒。

Don’t you just hate it when… (你会不会觉得很讨厌，当…)

I really hate it when I can’t remember a website address. Ever since websites became a ‘must-have’ for companies, all of the easy to remember website addresses have disappeared, just to be replaced with weird letter combinations and buzz-words.

我真得很讨厌记不住网址的时候。现在网站已经变成公司必须有的一个部分了，所有好记的网址都没了，被代替的是一些奇怪的词和流行的行话。

Take the other day for example…I was walking down the street when I saw a website address that I wanted to remember…but now when I try, I can only remember the end of it…can anyone help me out?

就拿有一天做例子吧…我走在街上看到一个网址，然后我想记住它…可是我试了，我只能记住网址的最后…有人可以帮我吗？

Getting ranked on the Bing search engine

This post is for webmasters – the new Microsoft Bing search engine has been launched, and a lot of people have found that their websites are not listed or ranked!
