Most people in Shanghai believe that the economic capital of China is, in fact, the centre of the Earth. They think that leaving the city limits is like going back in time, or stepping from civilization into the countryside.

在上海的大多数人认为，中国的经济中心其实就是地球的中心。他们认为，离开这个城市的范围就像是回到过去，或从文明走向农村。

Well I can now reveal that Kunming, in Yunnan province, is ACTUALLY more advanced technologically than anywhere else. But don’t just take my word for it, see for yourself:
