Hmm I have some things to say. First off last
Wednesday night ws meant to be massive but instead it turned out to be
a very relaxed and enjoyable evening…The Mexican invasion (one) came
out with Joss and me for a few drinks and we managed to learn more
about her (she doesn’t live in a mud hut on the beach after all)…She
also had no qualms about getting up in Notre Dame and dancing like an
absolute vixen…There’s going to be trouble ahead…
Anyway she and her *friend* Marie-Axel (or some shit) went to Venice
yesterday for the carnival…We were invited but we don’t have the
denaro unfortunately (very unfortunately)…MA is totally sexy and fit
(but whether or not anything happens depends on her linguistic
development (as we don’t really currently share a language)…We’ll
see…
It was a real banger last night in Notre Dame, loads of people, no trouble, lots of happy faces (and 40 euros pay). Sweet!
The lovely Ly-Ly Fong left today. I think everyone will miss her…
Has turned? Or maybe it’s just a special case, but
tonight I thought that business in the bar was really good…and Nanou
(the owner) paid us each (me, Joss and George the whining, pissing on
bars Irish) 40euros! How cool! That’s roughly 26.66 which is still
only 4.44 an hour (about the same as Marlini(!)) but still it’s better
than a poke in the eye with George’s pistol…
Joss was first to point out, and now I see what he means, that the
atmosphere in Grenoble seems to have changed a little from how it was.
The people seem less likely to let themselves totally go and really
have hardcore nights out. Maybe it’s a mixture of exams and ‘focus’
beaten into them by their parents when they went home for Christmas. Or
maybe it’s because I haven’t drunk anything for 4 days and the alcohol
void has created a depression of despotic proportions….poetry.
Oh yeah and it looks like there’s a rival DJ in town…Meghan the
westside ryder seems to think she’s going to be able to beat me in a
soundclash – HAHAHAHA. We’ll see….
And then the next night it was arse to the
grindstone again with work…it’s going to be great this term because I
have so many new CDs but I was greeted with the ‘great’ news that
Nanou, the owner of Café Notre Dame has had the genius brainwave of now
opening until 2am every night, thus requiring a Herculean 6 hours (8pm
start kids!) music playing on busy nights (other nights I can just get
away with putting on a mix CD and chillin…). Yesterday (Tuesday) was
so absolutely tiring but we got through it I suppose…Tonight I worked
again and it was pretty quiet (read: dead) so that was cool…Plus
Nanou said he would buy a new CD player to replace the one that skips
all of the time (Bart: ‘And monkeys might fly out of my butt’ (or was
it Beavis? I forget…)).
Point of note: Lots of people are only here for a single semester and are leaving soon. That sort of sucks.
Brightside: New influx of chicks! (sorry for the gratuitous male sexually frustrated comment).
I’m sleeping…
So last night was the last night at Notre Dame
before the vacation and I thought it would be massive. It turned out to
be a very average night…as Nanou (The owner) put it: ‘It was a night
where very few beautiful girls were here’. Worthy of an honourable
mention on the beautiful front, however, is Shiv…this girl is
absolutely stunning…and if her boyfriend’s arms weren’t thicker than
my waistline I’d go for it…
In other news…I’m going home very soon! Today is Wednesday, we’re
going out for a big night out tonight, and then it’ll be Thursday (and
the day before always goes really quickly) and then it’s Friday (and I
have to get up really early) and that’s it! Wow! This term has flown
by…I was thinking last night how lucky I have been in nearly every
aspect of this stay so far…And a lot of it has to do with working at
Notre Dame. I mean, I’ve met so many people from so many places
(noteable mention: Sweden) PLUS i’ve been financially ‘afloat’ all of
the time. Sweet.
I got to play with my first (not mine) MP3 player yesterday. They’re
cool, don’t get me wrong, but this one had 64mb memory and I’d need
about 640mb if I didn’t want to get bored with it REALLY quickly. Good
novelty value though.
Aaahhhh…I just got back from a night out at a
club called ‘Baobub’ or something…My friend Franck the DJ was
playing…it was a weird night, I guess there weren’t enough people
there really so the atmosphere was a bit crap (there were maximum 50
people there, and the space could have fit 250 I reckon). Oh well…the
night wasn’t a total failure because we had an absolute BaNgEr in Notre
Dame, I think it was the best night in terms of people and consumption
(not the disease) that we’ve had so far (although I did get pissed off
with people who kept banging into me and knocking the cd players etc.).
Anyway….
…I think tomorrow (today) is going to be the second to last day of
fasting, so that’s some good (?) news. It’s going to be weird to wake
up on Sunday and be able to have a coffee in bed…I wonder how many
days I will actually appreciate it for…
…I sent out an email to my email contact list and it was nice to hear
from some people who I haven’t heard from in a while (Finland
rules!)…I hope everyone around the globe wherever you are is keeping
it crazy real…And so to bed…
Yo well it’s all going down at the moment…Last
Tuesday was a quiet night at work, we were all falling asleep around
11:30pm, mentally preparing to go home when *BANG* into the bar walk 20
Swedish girls (I kid you not), all drunk, all with a seemingly
insatiable desire to dance! Too good. They just went wild, and Joss and
I agreed that it was the greatest moment of all time.
Wednesday night (last night) was pretty sweet…we went to watch the
Fulham v Liverpool game (that wasn’t the highlight, the match was
boring) but the atmosphere was really great in the pub…a really
Christmasy feeling.
After
that we went over to some girls’ house and it was really
civilized…there were about 8 of us (notably they were not from my
faculty, they were from a really, really good one) and we chatted until
around 4am, when we went to a French guy’s place to sleep…
3 hours later
…we had to wake up to go to class because we had an exam this morning
at 8:30am. Shiznit. It went ok, and so I went home, paid my rent and
went to sleep until 5pm…
…So then I ate.
Last night at work was a real banger…the bar was
full all night and the ambiance was excellent because the majority of
the people really wanted to have a good time and relax. It’s so good
when it’s that sort of atmosphere instead of people who are grumpy or
bored…
…Only 1 week left of fasting!
Hmmm last night was pretty cool all things
considered (and all politics aside). It was Joss’s birthday celebration
so we went to this little Italian restaurant (about 15 of us) and had
some good food…then I had to work (life as an internationally renound
DJ never stops!) but it was a really good night, it was the first day
of Beaujolais in France so every bar had offers regarding cheap wine
which meant people up for a good time…
…and the evening ended very nicely as I accidentaly added a girl to
my romantic mix, this time from Scotland! Ooops. She’s really nice
though (not that just because she’s from Scotland she wouldn’t be nice
but whatever…)
Well Mr DJ..
Yeah I
did feel like a little bit of a dickhead when I opened my bag to find
the WRONG BOX OF MINIDISCS last night in the bar…luckily we had a
backup load of CDs but it pissed me off. The night went well though,
the bar was rammed from 9.30 till 12.00 and full before and after that.
I can’t wait to get my CDs from home for next semestre’s work there, it
should be pretty sweet…
Oh yeah, then the night went from good to excellent when I went with an
Italian girl and 2 Spaniards (1m 1f) to a bar called ‘Le Vieux Manoir’,
and the night ended extremely strangely when I ended up in a single bed
with a bottle of tequila and two other people…I’ll let your
imaginations do the rest…
I’m going to hopefully watch American Pie 2 tonight with a Canadian
called Zotos (how cool?!?!) and a girl from South America…Full
details to come…
