Fudan University photos (负担大学照片)

So recently I had lunch with a very good student of mine (although there’s only so much you can teach an American before the words start bouncing back)…

最近我和我的一个三好学生共进了午餐（教育一个美国人的空间真的很大，故而称之为‘三好’学生）。

When we’d finished lunch I was feeling a little tipsy, so I decided to sneak into the grounds (translation: walk into) of Fudan University and take some photos with my new camera :D

午饭后我有丁点儿醉意，于是想溜进（注：其实是“踱进”）复旦大学校园，用我的新相机抓拍些照片。

Fudan University in Shanghai has a lot of picturesque areas, but I decided to focus on the big ass building on Handan Road, since it is one of the ‘icons’ of Fudan. I couldn’t take too many pictures because it was a baking hot day, and the beer in my belly soon made me want to go home and take a nap, but anyway…here are the photos of Fudan University buildings and grounds:

上海的复旦大学其实有很多栩栩如生的拍点，不过我还是决定先聚焦在邯郸路上那座丑陋的大建筑，该建筑居然还被号称为复旦的标志性建筑之一。由于那天热得像烘焙炉，我没能够拍太多相片，再加上我肚子里的啤酒已渐渐发酵，幻觉中我箭步如家打盹鼾声四起……以下便是复旦大学校园建筑一瞥：

Since I found out my Mum reads my blog, I feel like I need to put more photos of flowers in it. Appeal to a wider audience ‘n stuff.

On my way to the taxi, I found this road just inside the Fudan University gate. Nice, huh?

Finally, for everyone else balllllllin’ China style (this is the basketball court where I killed both of my toenails 4 months ago by wearing running shoes to dunk. Yeah I said running shoes. Yeah I said dunk. I still got mad ups (for a white boy). Witness.

最后这张是为所有有中国特色的家伙特别奉献的。四个月前，在这个篮球场上，我穿着运动跑鞋灌篮，牺牲了四个脚趾指甲盖儿。没错儿，我指的就是跑鞋！我说的正是灌篮！作为一个白人青年，我还是有点耿耿于怀。铁证如山哪。

I reckon this summer is going to be a big success,
because uni is shaping up so well – The people here are, for the most
part, great…our house is brilliant (people wise, location wise,
facilities wise) and work is cool too (we have more responsibility and
freedom than ever).

I’ve also been swelling my movie collection recently, notably with The
Wash starring Snoop and Dre and Bones starring Snoop. Hot ish. New
music has been slower coz I haven’t had many days off (and you need
more time ironically for smaller MP3 files), but today I *do* have off
so I think i’ll be making some ‘purchases’.

Not tired

Just a little fatigued….I’m on the second half of
a 2 day double header (double shifts, both days, roughly 12 hours per
day)…It’s good money man and that’s why i’m here, right? Right?!?! My
400 cds that i ordered arrived today but I forgot to pick them up
(DOHDOHDOH) so tomorrow hopefully…I broke the 700 pound earning
barrier today too which is pretty sweet, since I arrived back in
Warwick…I hope to break 1000 by the end of the first week of summer.
Fingers crossed!

Have been working on some fresh, home grown beats. for music…great. FruityLoops is the program baby…
Just
got back from work, i’m still in the honeymoon period with the job, I
don’t hate it at all and there are some really cool people working at
the moment, I Just hope it lasts into summer. Got paid today as well
(350 nicker!) so there’s no financial crisis either! Sweet!
Oh yeah and England lost…oh well…I don’t like football that much anymore, not since Collymore left…

Boo

So I woke myself up at 7.25, walked to the Union, bought
a pint of coke, realised there were no seats, walked back from the
Union, watched the game in the kitchen (half dead after Remedy last
night), England lost, went back to bed…What a strange day so far.

But I did get paid for my work!!! Great….

Hello

I am quite annoyed with myself for not pdating this
diary more often recently – considering the fact that I have absolutely
no excuse whatsoever to not be online 24/7 (which i am) and at
unbelievably(sp?) high speeds too…It’s just weird, like the
opportunity for other stuff is always there (music, movies etc) that
you just don’t bother to do anything as boring as…well…typing.

I have also been working my a$$ off in the bar…LOADS of hours last
week (49!!!) and 35+ this week and scheduled for next. I should be glad
that the money is rolling in (although it isn’t actually coming in at
all yet, but I should be paid a good chunk on Friday).

I think I have been doing a lot of stuff to avoid missing France – I
haven’t really been able to think about it much whatsoever (except when
I wake up in the night with a vision of someone (Mariatzell) in my
mind)…It only happened once so far, but it was quite scary (not that
she’s scary but anyway….)

I haven’t been watching as much football as I thought I might, but then
it isn’t *that* interesting unless England are playing for me. It’s
like watching Man U v Arsenal every day – exciting the first time but
then every day? Fuck that. Cricket’s my sport…leather on willow on
cork and all that shit. Great.

Happp Birthday to my Dad today…I didn’t send a card (Ecards don’t
count in my house) but I have justified it to myself because I can’t
afford to. I’ll send something on Friday. Hopefully.

I have been doing a lot on the old mixtapes
thing and have finally worked out a couple of programs to make my own
beats from scratch. I just need Tony to email me some vocals and HISS /
ACBDJOD Enterprises will be back up and running!

What a night – 4 hours alone in the Arts Centre…I
thought I wouldn’t get bored but I was so buzzed from the 4 gallons of
Pepsi that I drunk that I got hyperactive but couldn’t go anywhere. Bad
news.)

to download it…Have been so busy working recently the way to unwind
has been to make music…it’s cool though. I was thinking I am going to
make a really cool cover for the cd and then show it to my kids when
i’m older. Maybe.

Other news: no prospects at present (ok a couple but this is a big uni)

Watched a lot of movies – Spiderman is ace, How High is ace, Training Day is ok, Star Wars is ace
